FuturizeU aims to help early-stage startups with healthcare-focused innovations go from prototype to market launch. We help you refine the business model, build your products to find product-market fit and connect to the funding ecosystem across Africa. It aims to nurture early-stage university startups in Africa’s healthcare sector, equipping them with essential tools to address healthcare equity and non-communicable disease diagnosis challenges
The 8-week(SEPTEMBER 12 – NOVEMBER 17, 2023) FuturizeU Incubator refines startup ideas, provides expert coaching and prepares for investment. A rigorous curriculum of mentorship, workshops, and resources. At the end, startups pitch to a panel of investors. The selective program admits 10 promising startups to change healthcare in Africa
Initiatives Serve as Dynamic Launchpads

Leveraging AI and ML, FuturizeU accelerates healthcare advancements while fostering innovation. The program’s curriculum spans eight weeks, covering startup principles and providing mentorship and networking opportunities. Selected startups will showcase their innovations at FuturizeU Demo Day in Nairobi, Kenya, on November 17, 2023.
The program received overwhelming applications, with ten startups chosen for participation. AstraZeneca and Futurize will continue exploring partnership opportunities to support healthcare entrepreneurs in Africa and strengthen healthcare systems in the region and beyond.
