Newtium is using advanced technology to streamline the complicated process of child immunization with Newtium HVMS providing a CDC vaccination schedule chart, intuitive child charting, automated dose series management, immunization alerts (Email and SMS), encounter management and more.

The need for an effective and reliable method of Vaccination management for African children has long been recognized, but is underserved and lacking in many areas. With this cloud-based software, Newtium hopes to see widespread organization of vaccinations while simplifying the process for healthcare professionals.

Newtium sees itself as more of a movement than a company and with its clear vision and ambition to change African healthcare, it is easy to see why. With the launch of Newtium Health Vaccination Management System (Newtium HVMS), Newtium is using advanced technology to streamline the complicated process of child immunization with Newtium HVMS providing a CDC vaccination schedule chart, intuitive child charting, automated dose series management, immunization alerts (Email and SMS), encounter management and more.

Rather than just being a reminder or file-based system, Newtium HMVS is the veritable Swiss-Army knife of vaccination management allowing secure storage of everything needed to manage effectively and efficiently. With patient histories and key clinical data, the professional user can ensure correct dosage at the right time and with the patient’s individual needs and situation taken into account. Other features include vaccine inventory, provider role setting, multi-facility management, data encryption and a whole slew of reporting options to keep on top of all the necessary regulations and oversight.

The effect of this management will be great in terms of monitoring and reminding parents and healthcare professionals of vaccination needs in individual children on a grand scale. Cloud-based for strong uptime performance, but with an offline mode for when internet isn’t available, the software is created and designed with Africa in mind rather than being adapted for this market. Available in both English and French, the software will cater to a wide range of countries and professionals across the continent.

“Eradicating Poverty is an ethical, social, political and economic imperative to humankind and we (Newtium) are bringing our contribution with technology.” – Newtium’s Vision from their website.

Being Africa-centric is not an accident, nor is it due to profit-focused factors. It is down to the fact that Newtium’s co-founders Kevin Achankeng and Pathe Yacine Gueye are both African and specifically seeking to impact Africa, borne from their natural desire to see improvement in the lives of other Africans. The team’s combined 20 years of experience in IT enables them to pursue their vision and bring their expertise to developing countries.

The software is currently available for demos and trials through the Newtium website. 8
